To everyone:
Dating is wrong because it is like telling God that we can choose a better mate than He can. Old-fashioned courtship would be a better way of pursuing a marital relationship. The most important thing to know is this: God comes first. If God is not first in your life, you have no business even thinking about marriage. Refer to 2 Corinthians 6:14.
Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? -- 2 Corinthians 6:14
A believer is someone who has faith in Jesus Christ that He is the only Way. (John 14:6). They will also be obedient to God's Word. Evidence of this faith is dying to the flesh and selfish desires.
I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. -- Galatians 5:16-18
Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. -- Galatians 5:19-21
A true believer will be dead to these things, but alive in Christ.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another. -- Galatians 5:22-26
A true believer will not live like everyone else does. They will be different, known by their actions. See also Matthew 7:13-27.
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. -- Romans 12:1-2
It is a good idea to examine one's self daily to make sure that God is in fact number one. It is easy to let something else take the 'number one' spot. Seek God continually in everything that you do. Make God your number one priority from the beginning.
To Men: (Before someone starts an argument, yes, I am included in this.)
Unless you can see women without your eyes you have no business thinking about marriage. You need to see her the way God sees her.
But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.” -- 1 Samuel 16:7
The only way to see as God sees is to ask Him, but be warned, you will have to look in the mirror first. Also, you need to know that Proverbs 31 is advice that King Lemuel's mother gave to him. It is written to a man so he can identify a woman of God. On the other side of that Proverbs 7 identifies a harlot. Know the difference.
Refer to Proverbs 18:22
He who finds a wife finds a good thing, And obtains favor from the LORD. -- Proverbs 18:22
In the event that you do 'obtain favor from the LORD' and enter into a relationship, both man and woman are to seek God as one unit. God still has to be first. The question, "Will you marry me?" is inaccurate for Christians. The question should be, "Will you seek God with me?" Make God your number one priority from the beginning.
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church. For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones. “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” -- Ephesians 5:25-31

To Women:
I am aware that what I am about to say is the same as playing with fire while holding a lit stick of dynamite in one hand and nitroglycerin in the other, but it needs to be said.
But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.” -- 1 Samuel 16:7
You are not for sale, cover up. You don't need to show skin. You don't need to wear tight clothes. You don't need make up. Concerning showing skin and tight clothing: You are not a prostitute so stop dressing like one. A Godly woman should not have anything to do with the latest fashion. It neglects modesty. As far as make up goes, why would you want to change what God made? Beauty comes from God, not mud and fish scales. (Yes, mud and fish scales. Read the ingredients of some make up.) Understand this. God, the Creator of the Universe, Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End, made you, formed you like clay while you were in your mothers womb. God made you. Don't change what God made. You are not an object to be put on display either. It's not easy for some, but ignore society. It's wrong.
For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. -- Psalm 139:13-14
Now that I've stirred up the hornet's nest. Please understand this is not meant to make you mad. You need to know what it means to be a woman of God. Study the women of God from the Bible, like Ruth and Esther. Samuel's mother, Hannah, is another good example (1 Samuel 1-2). I would recommend studying Proverbs 8 as well. Above all else, God has to be first in your life. Put God first and everything else will fall into place.
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. -- Matthew 6:33
For the troublemakers:
To those who ignore God's Word and still try to cause His children to stumble know this. God will protect His children. Repent or face the consequences.
Therefore understand today that the LORD your God is He who goes over before you as a consuming fire. He will destroy them and bring them down before you; so you shall drive them out and destroy them quickly, as the LORD has said to you. -- Deuteronomy 9:3
